Kris-Ann Ehrich

My first love will always be 3D.

I have been working as a full-time sculptor for the past seven years surviving mainly on commissions for schools, private collectors, and not-for-profit bodies. I also have a couple of galleries around Australia that represent my bronze pieces.

A large commission I completed in 2014 was creating portrait busts of the ten recipients of the Victoria Cross during the Gallipoli campaign.

In more recent times I have been focusing on ceramics which have the advantage of being more affordable and accessible to the public at large. As a sculptor and ceramic artist, I hand-build my work and make one-off pieces that celebrate the human condition in all of its manifestations.

I love the human face and faces are ever present in my creations – including pots, plates, masks, vases, cups, and outdoor pieces. Ceramics are providing me with a fresh expressive outlet. I feel I have much to learn about this wonderful medium.
