Residency Workshop in Tuscany

On Centre. Form and Decoration

This course is for participants who have sufficient experience of throwing to want an intensive course to develop their skill to a proficient level. It is an opportunity for an extended immersion into clay.

The course contents is dedicated to throwing and decorating in the field of functional ceramics, with a section about the basics of firing. Exercises aim to improve skills and awareness, so to allow participants to improve their pots in forma and finish.

The small size of the group (maximum eight participants), the continued time dedicated to training and the one-on-one attention from the instructors consent consistent progress and the acquisition of confidence and fluency. The sharing of information, opinion and discovery within the group is contributor to this and will be encouraged in regular group discussions.

Students do have a generous working space at disposal. They will stay and study in the supportive environment of La Meridiana, with logistics like lodging, transportation and lunch taken care of.  Two foremost ceramicist of broad experience will tutor the small group of eight students.
